Massive Fire Erupts in Patna Apartment, Prompting Large-Scale Evacuation
Patna: A massive fire broke out on the ninth floor of Surya Apartment on Fraser Road on Wednesday evening, rapidly engulfing the building in flames. The blaze, which took on a monstrous form within minutes, prompted a swift response from the fire department, with more than 15 fire engines dispatched to the scene.
Firefighters employed the Meghdoot Hydraulic system along with another hydraulic machine to tackle the inferno. Through their coordinated efforts, the fire was brought under control after a strenuous three and a half hours.
The apartment complex, which houses 55 flats, was fully evacuated as soon as the fire was reported. The blaze originated in the flat of Om Prakash Agarwal, who resides there with his family. Fortunately, all family members managed to escape unharmed.
Surya Apartment is situated in a densely populated residential area. Adjacent to the building is the residence of former Union Minister CP Thakur, while Hotel Maurya, Hathua Maharaja’s residence, and the Youth Hostel are located nearby.
