Mithapur-Mahuli Road to Be Completed Soon, Bihar CM Reviews Progress

Patna : Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conducted an on-site inspection of the under-construction Mithapur-Mahuli elevated road, urging officials to accelerate its completion. The 8.86 km-long project, which began in March 2021, is expected to significantly reduce congestion and ease traffic movement in Patna’s southern areas.

During the visit, the Chief Minister reviewed construction near the Mithapur flyover rotary and the Mithapur railway crossing. Shirshat Kapil, Chairman of Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation Limited, informed CM that most of the project is complete, with final work on the elevated stretch and the road below underway. He assured that the remaining work would be finished by April.

CM Nitish stressed the need for swift completion, stating that the elevated road will provide relief to commuters and mitigate traffic jams at critical junctions. “This road will be a game-changer for daily commuters and long-distance travellers,” he said, underlining its importance for Patna’s growing population.

The Chief Minister also inspected the widening of the old Patna-Gaya road near Punpun Teenmukhani. He emphasised the need to expedite the completion of the elevated road leading to Punpun Ghat and the construction of the Laxman Jhula. Kumar reiterated his long-standing connection with the area and engaged with local residents, enquiring about their concerns.

Officials from the Road Construction Department and district administration accompanied the Chief Minister during the inspections.
