Mrs India 2023 Winner Dr Rohini Jha Appointed Assistant Professor at VKSU, Ara

Arrah / Patna : Dr Rohini Jha, winner of the 2023 Mrs India title, has been appointed as an Assistant Professor of English at Veer Kunwar Singh University (VKSU) in Ara. Her appointment comes after securing 17th position in the merit list of the Bihar State University Service Commission, where she ranked second in the VKSU list.

Dr Rohini, who hails from Chainpur village in Saharsa district, completed her PhD from VKSU in 2018 and graduated from HD Jain College. She was previously a guest lecturer at BN College, Patna University, where she gained teaching experience before her recent selection.

Despite her plans to participate in the Mrs World competition after her 2023 victory in Goa, she was unable to attend due to technical reasons. Now, she is set to embark on her academic journey as a full-time faculty member.

Awaiting College Allotment

Dr Rohini is among 13 assistant professors selected to teach English at VKSU, part of a larger recruitment drive where 209 teachers have been appointed to fill 253 vacancies across Bihar. However, she is yet to receive her college allotment, which will be determined once the list is released by the education department.

Cultural Roots and Influences

Born in Parri village of Bangaon, Saharsa district, and now residing in Patna, Dr Rohini has had the opportunity to engage with diverse cultural influences from across Bihar. Reflecting on her experiences, she highlighted the richness of the Mithila, Bhojpuri, and Magadhi cultures, which she considers among the finest in the state.
