Mushroom Production Training Program Concludes at Bihar Agricultural University

Sabour: A one-day training program on ‘Mushroom Production’ was successfully conducted under the ‘Tribal Sub Plan (TSP)’ by the Directorate of Research, Bihar Agricultural University (BAU), Sabour. The event took place at the Rice Research Center, Tilonda Farm, Banka, with the participation of 60 tribal farmers, including both men and women.
The training program was chaired by Director of Research, Dr. A.K. Singh, who emphasized the benefits of the Tribal Sub Plan and the potential of mushroom production as a profitable venture. He encouraged farmers to adopt modern techniques to enhance their livelihood and become self-reliant.
Experts Dr. Rakesh Dev Ranjan, Dr. Deepak Patel, and Dr. Apurv Pal conducted informative sessions, providing practical knowledge on mushroom cultivation and entrepreneurship development. The training covered various aspects of production technology, including substrate preparation, spawn selection, and post-harvest management.
This initiative aimed to empower tribal farmers by equipping them with essential skills and knowledge in mushroom farming. The program served as a significant step towards creating sustainable livelihood opportunities and boosting income generation in the tribal community.
