Muzaffarpur Horror: Man Beats Wife to Death in Front of Children, Video Sparks Outrage

Muzaffarpur: A shocking case of domestic violence has emerged from Jhinga village under Motipur police station limits in Muzaffarpur, where a man allegedly beat his wife to death in full view of their children. The accused, identified as Kalimullah, is on the run, while a disturbing video of the incident has surfaced and gone viral, raising serious concerns over public apathy and the safety of women.
Rural Superintendent of Police Vidya Sagar confirmed the incident:
“A woman was killed in the Motipur area. Preliminary investigation indicates that her husband is responsible. Raids are underway to trace the accused who is currently absconding.”
According to police, the accused attacked his wife Mehrunnisa (30) with a wooden stick on Friday evening after she reportedly stopped him from consuming drugs. The brutal assault continued even after she lost consciousness and eventually died, with the couple’s three children standing just a few feet away, crying and pleading for their mother’s life.
Disturbing Video Captures the Attack
A video shot by a bystander shows Mehrunnisa lying motionless on the ground while Kalimullah relentlessly strikes her. The cries of the children can be heard in the background, while the person filming is heard commenting on the horror but does not intervene.
Despite her attempts to flee through the village to save her life, witnesses say no one stepped in to help. She eventually collapsed inside her house, where the fatal assault continued. Her mother-in-law, who was present at the time, also tried to stop the attack but was reportedly pushed aside by Kalimullah.
Troubled History and Family Tragedy
Mehrunnisa had earlier lost her first husband, who died under mysterious circumstances while serving a jail sentence in 2015. After his death, she married her brother-in-law Kalimullah. The couple had a 4-year-old son, while she also had a 14-year-old daughter from her first marriage. Villagers said Kalimullah was unemployed and known for substance abuse.
“Her life was full of struggle. She married Kalimullah to support her family after her first husband died, but instead, she was trapped in another nightmare,” said Mohammad Nizam, a resident of the village.
Police Action and Investigation
After being informed by locals, Motipur police reached the scene and launched an investigation. The forensic science laboratory (FSL) team has collected evidence from the site. Mehrunnisa’s body was sent for postmortem.
