Muzaffarpur Man Pays the Price for Forgetting Wife’s Birthday After Wishing Sister—Gets Head and Finger Injured

Muzaffarpur / Patna : A man in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur suffered severe injuries after his wife allegedly attacked him with a cricket bat on her birthday, reportedly because he forgot to wish her.
The incident occurred in the Ahiyapur police station area and left the husband with a fractured skull and a broken finger. He was taken to Shri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) for treatment.
According to sources, the wife became enraged after receiving birthday calls from other family members while her husband failed to acknowledge the occasion. Tensions escalated further when she recalled that he had recently celebrated his sister’s birthday with enthusiasm, even posting about it on social media.
A heated argument ensued, during which the wife allegedly picked up a cricket bat and struck her husband on the head. As he attempted to shield himself, he sustained additional injuries, including a fractured finger.
Neighbors, alerted by the commotion, found the man bleeding and rushed him to hospital. Dr. Rajesh Kumar, a resident doctor at SKMCH, confirmed that the patient had suffered a skull fracture and a broken finger. “He mentioned it was a domestic dispute but refused to elaborate,” Dr. Kumar said.
Despite the severity of the attack, the husband has not filed a complaint with the police, calling it a personal matter. A senior police official from Ahiyapur confirmed they were aware of the incident but could not take action without a formal complaint.
Local residents said the couple frequently argued over minor issues but had never been involved in such a violent altercation.
