Muzaffarpur: Timely Intervention Prevents Major Rail Accident Near Kurhani Station

Fog Disrupts Operation of 24 East Central Railway Trains Until February

MUZAFFARPUR – A potentially catastrophic accident was averted near Kurhani station on the Muzaffarpur-Hajipur railway section on Friday morning, thanks to the swift action of vigilant railway personnel. The incident unfolded as several trains passed over a track that had fractured approximately a foot.

Among the trains scheduled to traverse the compromised track was the Bhagalpur-Jammu Tawi Amarnath Express. However, averted disaster ensued as keyman Vakil Kumar and gateman Ravikant Rajak promptly identified the broken track and immediately reported the situation to Sonpur Control Room.

Sonpur Control Room, in turn, relayed the critical information to Kurhani and Turki stations. The Bhagalpur-Jammu Tawi Amarnath Express (Train No. 15097) was halted at Turki station. Officials from the engineering department swiftly responded to the spot, implementing a one-hour block on the up line to replace the damaged track.

Railway authorities emphasize the grave risk posed by individuals wandering along railway tracks, categorizing such actions as criminal offenses.
