Namo Bharat Train to Connect Patna and Muzaffarpur, Says Railway Minister

Muzaffarpur: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has announced that the Namo Bharat train will soon operate between Patna and Muzaffarpur, offering a major boost to connectivity in Bihar. The announcement came during his visit to Muzaffarpur on Saturday evening, where he arrived by special train after attending an event in Bettiah.

Vaishnaw reviewed the redevelopment plans for Muzaffarpur Junction under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme and examined a 3D model of the upgraded station. He emphasized that Muzaffarpur is being developed into a world-class railway hub at an estimated cost of Rs 442 crore.

The minister further stated that the Indian Railways is working on 100 Amrit Bharat trains for long-distance travel and 50 Namo Bharat trains for shorter routes, with rapid progress being made. He assured that railway development projects in Bihar would face no shortage of funds.

The event was attended by Minister of State for Coal and Mines Satish Chandra Dubey, MPs Dr Sanjay Jaiswal and Gopalji Thakur, East Central Railway General Manager Chhatrasal Singh, and Sonpur DRM Vivek Bhushan Sood. After addressing the gathering for about 20 minutes, Vaishnaw departed for Patna at 7:03 pm by special train.
