The three-day Orientation Programme for UG 2025–2029 and PG 2025–2027 students began on June 23 at Patna Women’s College, setting a tone of integrity, excellence, and community.

Patna: A three-day Orientation Programme for the new undergraduate (2025–2029) and postgraduate (2025–2027) batch commenced on June 23 at Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), Patna University. The sessions took place in Veronica Auditorium and B.J. Sullivan Hall, with an emphasis on values, discipline, and engagement.

The programme opened with a bhajan led by Celine Crasta, Head of the Department of History and Cultural Coordinator, seeking divine blessings for the students’ new academic journey.

This was followed by an insightful session on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 by M. Rashmi, Principal of the college. She encouraged students to align with the core values of the institution—faith in God, honesty, morality, uprightness, and the pursuit of excellence—while adapting to educational reforms.

Amrita Chowdhury, IQAC Coordinator and Head of the Geography Department, introduced the students to the college’s vibrant culture, its broad offering of add-on courses, and the importance of adapting to the academic environment with enthusiasm and integrity.

Ameeta Jaiswal, Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences and Head of Philosophy, spoke on the College’s Code of Conduct. She highlighted how discipline, respect, and integrity go beyond rules, shaping students into responsible individuals.

Adding a lively note to the day, an interactive entertainment session was conducted by Manjula Sushila, Head of the Hindi Department and Sports Coordinator, to encourage camaraderie and connection among students.

Celine Crasta returned with a comprehensive presentation on the College Profile, sharing its mission, achievements, academic departments, and infrastructure, giving students a broader understanding of their new academic home.

The day concluded with the college anthem “Hey Manav”, led by Nelsa, Assistant Professor in the English Department. She explained how the song draws inspiration from the bookmark of St. Teresa of Avila, the patroness of the college, and stands as a symbol of hope and spiritual strength.

The session was moderated by Student Council members Mahrukh Firdaus, Premier, and Soumya Vartika, Joint General Secretary for 2025–26.

The Orientation Programme was jointly organised by Celine Crasta, Enakshi Dey Biswas, Coordinator of Performing Arts, and Puja Kumari, Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce, all of whom serve as Cultural Coordinators of Patna Women’s College.
