Patna: The Bihar government has launched the Bihar Krishi mobile app to digitally empower farmers under the Fourth Agriculture Roadmap. Inaugurated recently by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the app aims to serve as an agricultural companion for farmers across the state.
Available on Google Play Store, the app offers integrated services such as applications for government schemes, crop management guidance, market price updates, and real-time weather forecasts. Farmers can register using their mobile numbers to access the app’s features.
The Bihar Krishi app also includes a digital farmer passbook facility, enabling farmers to view grants and benefits received from various government schemes and maintain a digital record similar to a bank passbook. The Agriculture Department said the app will help farmers access necessary technical information and adopt modern farming methods easily.
Farmers can access detailed information on pesticide management, disease control, and advanced agricultural practices for major crops like paddy, wheat, pulses, and oilseeds, as well as horticultural products such as mango and banana. They can also download their soil health cards and plan farming activities based on weather forecasts, including temperature and rainfall data.
Additionally, the app provides current and historical market prices of crops, locations of mandis, cold storage facilities, and Krishi Vigyan Kendras. Farmers can register their agriculture-related queries on the app and access information about schemes like PM Kisan Samman Nidhi through an AI-powered chatbot.
The government said that with this digital solution, farmers will gain easier access to welfare schemes and technical support, helping them become more prosperous.
