New Bag Manufacturing Company in Patna to Export Abroad, Creating Hundreds of Jobs

Patna: A new chapter in Bihar’s industrial development unfolded this week with the inauguration of the Highspirit Leather Bag Company in the Fatuha Industrial Area. The facility, which will produce high-quality leather bags for both domestic and international markets, promises to create hundreds of local jobs and contribute to the state’s economic growth.
Bihar’s Industry Minister, Nitish Mishra, hailed the launch as a significant step towards achieving a self-reliant Bihar. “This project will provide new employment opportunities and is a key milestone in our efforts to industrialize the state,” Mishra said during the inauguration ceremony on Wednesday.
The Fatuha-based plant will manufacture leather bags to be exported to major cities in India, including Bengaluru, as well as overseas. Mishra toured the factory floor, testing the products’ quality and engaging with employees. The initial phase of production will create 120 jobs, with plans to expand further.
The company has installed 80 new machines, bringing the total number of machines across various Highspirit units in Fatuha to 320. This increase in capacity is expected to generate more jobs and support higher production rates in the future.
Bandana Preyashi, Secretary of the Industry Department, emphasised that the establishment of the new facility is a crucial step in transforming Bihar into a major industrial hub. “This is just the beginning. We are laying the foundation for more industries to thrive in Bihar,” Preyashi said.
Nikhil Dhanraj Nippanikar, Industry Director, also spoke about upcoming Highspirit projects in the Muzaffarpur Industrial Area, signalling further expansion plans.
