New Details Emerge in Female Constable’s Murder Case Near Patna Junction: Accused Husband’s Movements Tracked
Patna: Police investigation into the murder of female constable Shobha Kumari is revealing new information, casting further suspicion on her husband, Gajendra Kumar. Kumari was found dead in room number 303 of Hotel Meenakshi near Patna Junction.
Authorities have disclosed that after allegedly killing Kumari, Gajendra made three calls before switching off both his mobile phones. His last known location was near Patna Junction. Surveillance footage shows the accused heading towards the railway station. At the time of his entry, six trains were scheduled for departure.
Police are scouring additional CCTV footage from the premises and platforms of Patna Junction in an attempt to ascertain Gajendra’s escape route. Although local authorities in Jehanabad conducted raids on suspected hideouts, they have so far been unsuccessful in locating him.
In conversations with the families of both the accused and the victim, it was learned that Gajendra had been keenly interested in Kumari’s law enforcement career. The relationship between the two had initially been good but later turned sour. Frequent arguments erupted between the couple, leading to periods of non-communication. During these times, Gajendra would have their daughter call Kumari.
Gajendra, a resident of Damoh, Jehanabad, had booked the hotel room on Thursday evening, providing Aadhaar cards for both himself and his wife. Kumari arrived at the hotel the following morning, where she was subsequently shot dead. Authorities recovered two pistols and four cartridges from the crime scene. The couple had previously been in a love marriage.
The ongoing investigation continues to unfold as authorities ramp up efforts to locate Gajendra Kumar.
