New Vande Bharat Express to Slash Travel Time Between Patna and Delhi
Patna: The Indian Railways is set to launch the Vande Bharat Express, a high-speed train connecting Patna and Delhi, significantly reducing travel time between the two cities. Operating at speeds of up to 130 km/h, the Vande Bharat Express will complete the journey in approximately nine hours. This is a substantial improvement over the current travel times of 13 hours for trains such as the Rajdhani Express, Sampoorna Kranti, and Tejas Express.
The new Vande Bharat Express will follow a route passing through Ara, Buxar, and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (DDU) Junction. The Railway Board is expected to release detailed information about the train’s schedule and operations soon.
The train will feature one executive chaircar class coach and seven air-conditioned chaircar coaches. The executive chaircar will accommodate 52 passengers, while the air-conditioned chaircar will have 478 seats. This addition to the fleet aims to offer a faster and more comfortable travel option for passengers.
Currently, the Vande Bharat Express operates routes from Patna to Gomtinagar in Lucknow, Howrah, Ranchi, and New Jalpaiguri, providing efficient and rapid transit across these regions.
In addition to the Vande Bharat Express, the Railway Board has announced the introduction of the Amrit Bharat Express, which will run between Danapur and Bengaluru starting in July. The timetable for this service will be released eight days prior to its commencement. While it typically takes 40-43 hours to travel from Patna to Bengaluru by regular trains, the Amrit Bharat Express is expected to halve this time, completing the journey in around 20 hours.
