Patna: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has recognised Bihar’s senior IPS officer, Vikas Vaibhav, for his significant contributions during his tenure. The agency has honoured him with a citation for his role in investigating several high-profile cases.
Vaibhav served as Superintendent of Police (SP) in the NIA from 2011 to 2015, a period marked by key breakthroughs in counterterrorism investigations. He was instrumental in probing major cases, including the Bodh Gaya and Patna serial blasts, the Indian Mujahideen network linked to Yasin Bhatkal, the Burdwan and Hyderabad blasts in West Bengal, and the case of Sadula Rama Krishna, who was accused of developing rocket launchers for Maoists in 2012.
His expertise in tackling organised crime and terrorism, particularly in Bihar, proved crucial in cracking down on the Indian Mujahideen network in the state. His tenure saw the conviction of nine individuals in connection with the Patna serial blasts by the NIA’s special court.
The NIA’s recognition of Vaibhav’s work has been seen as a proud moment for Bihar, highlighting his contributions to national security and law enforcement.
