NIA Raids in Bihar as Investigation into Maharashtra Bank Scam Expands

Madhubani / Patna : The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has extended its probe into the Rs122 crore scam involving Maharashtra’s New India Cooperative Bank to Bihar, with raids conducted at multiple locations in Madhubani district.
On Thursday, NIA officials raided the Digital Duniya electronic showroom, owned by Javed Azam, brother of former Maharashtra minister Haider Azam. The operation has caused a stir in the region, as the investigation gathers momentum beyond Maharashtra’s borders.
Showroom Manager Detained, Laptop Seized
During the raid, NIA officials took the showroom manager into custody for questioning. A laptop was seized from the premises, which is expected to provide crucial digital evidence and documents linked to the scam.
More Raids Likely as Probe Continues
Investigators suspect that Javed Azam may have other locations in Bihar where documents and evidence related to the case could be concealed. Authorities are now questioning the manager and the property owner to identify potential hideouts.
