Patna: The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Patna has initiated the admission process for its undergraduate and postgraduate programs for the academic year 2025. To assist aspiring candidates, the institute has set up a dedicated helpline, available via phone at +91-7070667666 and email at [email protected].

NIFT, established in 1986 under the Ministry of Textiles, is a leading institution in fashion education and plays a pivotal role in shaping professionals for the textile and apparel industries. With statutory status granted by the NIFT Act of 2006, the institution has expanded to 19 campuses nationwide, including the Patna center. NIFT also collaborates with Union and State governments to support handlooms and handicrafts.

The application window opened on November 22, 2024, and will close on January 6, 2025, for most programs. The entrance examination is scheduled for February 9, 2025, and will be conducted in over 75 cities across India. For specific categories such as PhD and Artisan, the deadline is February 28, 2025, while for NRI candidates, it is April 30, 2025. Applicants can find detailed eligibility criteria, exam patterns, and other essential information in the NIFT Prospectus and NTA Information Bulletin, accessible through the official application portal at https://exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT/.

This year, significant changes have been introduced to enhance flexibility in the admission process. Candidates for the Master of Fashion Management (MFM) program may also apply for the Master of Design (M Des) program by taking an additional Creative Ability Test. Similarly, Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B FTech) applicants, who must have studied mathematics at the senior secondary level, can now opt for the Bachelor of Design (B Design) program by completing the same Creative Ability Test.

NIFT Patna, under the leadership of its Director Colonel Rahul Sharma, offers six full-time undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Out of the 44 seats available in each program, seven are reserved for candidates domiciled in Bihar. The institute remains committed to fostering fashion education and supporting the aspirations of students nationwide.
