Nitish Kumar Falls Ill, Cancels All Events: Skips Bihar Business Connect and Rajgir Visit
Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has canceled all scheduled engagements today due to a sudden deterioration in his health. According to officials, the CM is experiencing a cold and mild fever and is currently resting at the CM House in Patna on medical advice.
Among the events affected is the Bihar Business Connect, an important gathering where the Chief Minister was expected to witness the signing of key memorandums of understanding (MOUs). Additionally, Kumar was scheduled to unveil the statue of Emperor Jarasandha Memorial at Jayaprakash Udyan in Rajgir. Both programs have been canceled for the time being, though sources suggest there remains a possibility that the Chief Minister may attend the business connect later in the day, depending on his recovery.
This is not the first health scare for the Chief Minister in recent months. On June 15, Kumar was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Patna after complaining of severe pain in his hands. The sudden health issue had prompted immediate medical attention.
Despite today’s developments, the Chief Minister’s much-anticipated Pragati Yatra remains on track. The first phase of the tour is set to begin on December 23 in Bettiah and will cover five districts. The journey will pause briefly on December 25 for the Christmas holiday before resuming until December 28.
The Pragati Yatra aims to review and expedite developmental projects across the state, reflecting Kumar’s focus on grassroots governance and public outreach. However, his health will remain a key concern as the state awaits further updates on his condition.
