Nitish Kumar Inspects Progress of Patna Museum Tunnel Project

Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inspected the under-construction tunnel connecting Bihar Museum and Patna Museum, stressing the need for its swift completion to enhance tourist convenience and connectivity. During the visit, Bihar Museum’s Director General Anjani Kumar Singh provided detailed information on the tunnel’s entry arrangements, parking, and other visitor amenities. The Chief Minister directed officials to expedite the construction, ensuring that visitors can easily access both museums. He also recommended planting trees in the surrounding area to improve the aesthetic appeal.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the ongoing expansion and upgradation work at Patna Museum. He inspected newly constructed facilities such as a kitchen, storage areas, temporary galleries, and a conservation laboratory. A short film showcasing the museum’s upgrades was presented, prompting the Chief Minister to urge officials to speed up the renovation process. He emphasized the importance of maintaining and showcasing the museum’s rich archaeological and historical collections effectively.
Additionally, the Chief Minister visited the excavation areas within the Patna Museum complex, providing necessary instructions to officials. The improved infrastructure is expected to significantly enhance the visitor experience and attract more tourists to both museums. The Chief Minister’s visit highlighted the government’s commitment to preserving and promoting Bihar’s cultural heritage through better facilities and seamless connectivity between the two prominent cultural landmarks.
