Patna: The Montessori II students of Notre Dame Academy celebrated Grandparents Day on Friday with warmth and enthusiasm, in an event organized by the Parent Teacher Association (PTA). The celebration honoured the vital role grandparents play in the lives of their grandchildren, blending heartfelt gestures with lively entertainment.

The event commenced with a welcome speech by the PTA President, followed by an inspiring address from Sister Namrata, the Directress of Mont House. The children took center stage with a soulful prayer for their grandparents, followed by action songs that carried messages of social importance, delighting the audience.

One of the highlights of the day was the presence of Padma Dr. Shanti Rai, attending as a grandparent. Dr. Rai shared touching anecdotes about her experiences as a grandmother and charmed everyone with a rendition of a folk song, adding a personal and emotional touch to the occasion.

Special guest RJ Anjali from Radio Mirchi brought a lively energy to the event, engaging grandparents in nostalgic interactions. She invited them to sing folk lullabies, creating a beautiful exchange of memories and traditions. Many grandparents participated, dedicating songs to their families, including one who eloquently remarked, “Interest is always more precious than principle,” encapsulating the essence of the day.

The PTA also organized a free health camp exclusively for grandparents, offering ECG and eye check-ups, ensuring their well-being was a priority. Alongside the health camp, a vibrant fete added to the festivities with food, beverages, and game stalls that kept families entertained throughout the day.

A dedicated selfie zone provided families with an opportunity to capture precious moments, making the celebration all the more memorable.

The event concluded on a joyous note, with attendees expressing gratitude for the PTA’s efforts in organizing a day that not only celebrated the bond between children and their grandparents but also fostered a sense of community.
