Over 2 Lakh Vehicles in Muzaffarpur Face Registration Suspension Over Mobile Number Update

Traffic Police Issue Fines Outside RJD Office, Party Alleges Bias

Muzaffarpur: The threat of vehicle registration suspension has intensified for owners who have not updated their mobile numbers in the Registration Certificate (RC). The District Transport Office (DTO) has begun compiling a list of such vehicles, with more than two lakh vehicles in the district at risk of suspension.

Vehicle owners have been given a deadline until March 31 to update their mobile numbers. From April 1, the process of suspending the registration of non-compliant vehicles will begin, according to DTO Kumar Satendra Yadav. He emphasized that updating mobile numbers in the RC has been made mandatory.

Easy QR Code-Based Mobile Number Update

To simplify the process, the transport department has introduced a QR code system. Vehicle owners can scan the QR code to update their mobile numbers in the RC. These QR codes have been displayed at the District Transport Office and various other locations for public convenience.

Steps to Update Mobile Number:

  1. Scan the QR code displayed at designated locations.
  2. Enter the vehicle registration number or select the relevant RTO.
  3. Verify and proceed by clicking the checkbox.
  4. Choose Aadhaar-based mobile number update and enter the required details (registration number, chassis number, engine number, etc.).
  5. Submit the details to update or correct the mobile number.
