Patna: With just a week left for the conclusion of the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh, the rush of devotees from Bihar shows no signs of slowing down. Railway stations across the state, including Patna and Bhagalpur Junction, are witnessing heavy crowds as thousands of passengers make their way to Prayagraj.

Amid this surge, the Indian Railways has canceled several trains due to technical reasons, including the Vikramshila Express, which will remain suspended in both directions until February 21. The train will not operate from either Bhagalpur or Anand Vihar Railway Station in Delhi during this period.

Railway officials have confirmed the cancellation of 12 trains, including the Purushottam Express, Bikaner-Howrah Express, Kalka-Howrah Express, Jammu Tawi-Tata Express, Ahmedabad-Barauni Express, and Indore-Howrah Express. Additionally, routes of seven trains have been altered, with some services now running via Manikpur-Prayagraj, Chhivki-Jeevanthpur-Varanasi-Jaunpur-Audihar, and other diverted paths.

Train delays continue to be a major issue, with congestion slowing down services. More than a dozen trains arriving at Patna Junction via Prayagraj on Tuesday were delayed by one to 15 hours. The Vikramshila Express was 15 hours late, while the Tejas Rajdhani and Sampoorna Kranti Express arrived 12 hours behind schedule.
