Pakistan flag laid on Bihar road in protest over Pahalgam attack; police intervene

Bettiah/ Patna: A controversial protest unfolded in Bettiah, Bihar, on Monday morning, where unidentified individuals laid a Pakistani flag on a public road in reaction to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. The incident took place at Ghardan Pokhara Chowk in the Mufassil police station area.

Local police responded swiftly, confiscating the flag shortly after images and videos of the act began circulating on social media. The protest appears to have been a symbolic act of anger directed towards Pakistan, widely blamed for sponsoring cross-border terrorism.

Sadar SDPO Vivek Deep confirmed the incident and stated that efforts are underway to identify those involved. He urged residents to express dissent in lawful and constructive ways, warning that such actions could disrupt public order.

“There are many positive and peaceful ways to protest. Damaging public places or using provocative symbols can lead to unnecessary tensions,” Deep said.
