Muzaffarpur/Narkatiaganj: A case of molestation has been registered against a pantry car manager aboard the Sapt Kranti Superfast Express, following an incident involving a 25-year-old female engineer traveling in an AC coach from Anand Vihar to Muzaffarpur.

According to officials, the accused, identified as Santosh Sah, a resident of Shivganj in Narkatiaganj, allegedly molested the woman near Harinagar station in the Gorakhpur–Muzaffarpur section on April 8. Sah is currently absconding, and teams have been deployed to trace and arrest him, said Rajkumar, the in-charge of Narkatiaganj railway station.

The incident took place shortly after the victim boarded the 3 AC economy coach (M-2) of the train from Bagaha at 6:10 AM. According to her statement, around half an hour into the journey, when the train reached Harinagar, the pantry car manager approached her when she was alone and allegedly began misbehaving. “He grabbed my hand and didn’t stop even after I strongly objected,” the woman stated in her complaint.

Her screams alerted fellow passengers, who rushed to her aid. The situation escalated into a confrontation, following which the accused reportedly alighted at Pipra station and fled the scene.

The victim initially submitted a written complaint at the Muzaffarpur railway station. Based on that application, an FIR was registered at the Narkatiaganj railway station, where the jurisdiction of the incident falls.

Authorities confirmed that this is not the first time Santosh Sah has faced legal trouble. “In 2023, he was arrested by the Narkatiaganj Railway Police for illegally allowing unauthorized passengers to travel in the pantry car and extorting money from them,” said station in-charge Rajkumar.

Previous complaints and pending investigations against him are also being re-examined.
