Patna Administration Gears Up for 358th Prakash Parv Celebrations
Patna: Patna’s district administration, led by District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh and Senior Superintendent of Police Avkash Kumar, has announced comprehensive measures to ensure smooth proceedings during the 358th Prakash Parv of tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh, to be celebrated from January 4 to 6, with events concluding on January 7 at Takht Shri Harmandir Sahib, Patna City.
The event, which attracts thousands of devotees and tourists from across India and abroad, holds significant religious and cultural importance. Addressing officials, the DM and SSP emphasized the administration’s commitment to crowd management, traffic regulation, and maintaining law and order during the grand celebrations.
Key Arrangements
Over 115 magistrates and police officers have been deployed across 83 locations to ensure security and order. Armed forces, quick response teams (QRT), and medical response teams (QMRT) will remain active round the clock. Additional provisions include river patrolling, deployment of SDRF and NDRF teams, and divers at river ghats to enhance safety.
Traffic management is a priority, with designated parking spaces at Bazar Samiti, Didarganj, Jhauganj, and Mangal Talab. Traffic police have been instructed to prevent haphazard parking and facilitate smooth vehicular movement.
CCTV cameras and videography teams have been stationed at key locations for monitoring. Medical camps equipped with ambulances, doctors, and life-saving medicines will be set up at crowded areas, with emergency facilities in hospitals like PMCH, NMCH, and IGIMS on high alert.
Special attention is being given to cleanliness, water supply, and electricity. High-mast and street lights will be kept functional, while water tankers and ATMs will ensure the availability of clean drinking water.
Procession and Gurudwara Premises
During the main procession, magistrates and police officers will ensure peaceful passage. Static and mobile patrols will oversee critical areas, while facilitation teams will assist devotees and address emergencies. At Takht Shri Harmandir Sahib, officials will manage orderly entry, movement, and exit of devotees to prevent overcrowding.
Collaboration with Stakeholders
The district administration has coordinated closely with the Gurudwara Management Committee, which expressed satisfaction with the arrangements. The DM and SSP stressed the need for effective communication and coordination among various departments to address challenges promptly.
Appeal to Officers
The DM and SSP instructed all deployed officers to respect the sentiments of devotees and tourists, discharge their duties courteously but firmly, and maintain seamless communication with stakeholders. Sub-divisional officers and police officers will act as nodal officers, ensuring on-ground monitoring and briefing of staff.
The Prakash Parv, commemorating the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh, is not only a religious celebration but also an opportunity to highlight Bihar’s cultural and tourism potential. The administration’s elaborate planning reflects its commitment to making the event a grand success.
