Patna: Bihar Sports University, Rajgir (BSUR), in collaboration with the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Patna, inaugurated a residential Advanced Refresher Course for physical education lecturers today at 10:00 AM.
The initiative, held under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions, aims to enhance the professional knowledge and skills of physical education instructors across the state.
The six-day training programme will be conducted in hybrid mode (online and offline), featuring lectures and sessions by invited experts and visiting faculty from across the country.
The course will focus on the latest developments, research, and innovations in physical education and sports science. Each batch will be limited to 50 participants.
As per the decision of BSUR’s Executive Council held on 3 May 2025, Shri Nishikant Tiwari, Controller of Examinations and Dean, has been appointed Course Director.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Vice Chancellor Shishir Sinha (Retd. IAS), Registrar Rajni Kant (Retd. IAS), Nishikant Tiwari, and Dr Syed Mohammad Ayub, Head of Physical Education at SCERT.
On the first day, lectures were delivered by Nishikant Tiwari on BSUR’s structure, Prof. Yogesh Chandra Thakur on the historical journey of sports, and Prof. Dr. Lalit Sharma from IGIPESS, Delhi, on sports psychology. Participants will receive certificates upon course completion.
