Patna : A major update has emerged regarding the upcoming terminal at Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport in Patna. Set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 24, the new terminal promises to significantly improve passenger access and streamline traffic flow around the airport.
One of the key upgrades is the direct access from the airport road to the terminal, eliminating the long walk passengers previously had to endure. The new terminal will feature two entry gates and one exit gate, designed to ease movement and reduce crowding. A multi-level parking area with ramp access will also be available, with convenient lifts and stairs providing passengers easy access to the terminal from the parking lot.
In addition to the upgraded terminal facilities, the surrounding traffic system will undergo significant improvements. The existing roundabout at the airport will be removed, and the road will be widened by demolishing the footpath on Peer Ali Khan Marg. This will help alleviate congestion and prevent vehicles from standing on the road, leading to smoother traffic flow. Nehru Path will be extended to the Chitkohra roundabout, while vehicles from the Sheikhpura turn will follow a new route via a U-turn near IAS Bhawan.
These changes are expected to make travel to and from Patna Airport faster and more efficient, benefiting both passengers and drivers alike.
