Patna Ranks Fourth Nationally in Citizen Feedback for Cleanliness Drive

Patna : Patna has secured the fourth position among India’s top 15 cities for citizen feedback in the ongoing Swachh Survekshan 2024, marking a significant milestone in the city’s push for cleanliness and public participation.

According to the Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC), over 2.34 lakh residents took part in the feedback campaign, reflecting growing civic awareness and engagement. Of the total responses, 54,851 were submitted via web, while 1,79,613 came through the dedicated mobile app.

The campaign—part of the nationwide cleanliness survey conducted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs—invited residents to answer a set of ten yes/no questions about cleanliness, waste management, and sanitation services in their localities.

Municipal officials credited the success to a combination of consistent groundwork and strong public participation. “Our team reached out to residents by visiting ward councillors’ offices, zonal offices, and going door-to-door to encourage involvement,” a PMC spokesperson said. “The support of the people has helped Patna emerge as one of the top-performing cities in this aspect.”

The PMC has reiterated its commitment to maintaining round-the-clock services, encouraging citizens to continue using helplines such as 155304 and the WhatsApp chatbot to register and resolve sanitation complaints.
