Patna DM calls for swift implementation of welfare schemes, improved public services
Patna: A meeting of the District Coordination Committee was held at the Collectorate auditorium on Thursday under the chairmanship of Dr Chandrashekhar Singh, District Magistrate of Patna. Officials were instructed to address public grievances with sensitivity and efficiency while ensuring the timely implementation of developmental and welfare schemes.
The meeting was attended by district-level officials from various departments, including Sub-Divisional Officers, Block Development Officers, Circle Officers, and Child Development Project Officers.
Dr Singh emphasised the need for officials to work with self-discipline and accountability, directing regional officers to resolve public issues locally to reduce unnecessary visits to district and sub-divisional headquarters. He underscored the importance of creating a responsive and efficient work culture, ensuring timely attendance and active engagement from staff at all levels.
The District Magistrate highlighted that regular coordination meetings across district, sub-division, and block levels aim to strengthen inter-departmental communication. Such efforts, he noted, are crucial for the swift resolution of challenges related to land availability, demarcation, building construction, and other developmental works.
During the review, Dr Singh took stock of key government initiatives, including public grievance redressal, solar street light installations, irrigation water schemes, social security pensions, tap water provisions, and the construction of Anganwadi centres and welfare hostels. He reiterated that the successful implementation of these projects remains the district administration’s top priority.
For pending matters related to land acquisition, no-objection certificates, and encroachment removal, Dr Singh directed block-level officers and circle officers to coordinate and expedite the processes, with supervision from Sub-Divisional Officers and monitoring by the Additional Collector of Patna. He also instructed officials to resolve cases pending in the courts, Lokayukta, and Human Rights Commission within stipulated deadlines.
The District Magistrate concluded by stressing the importance of transparency, coordination, and commitment in achieving the government’s developmental objectives and serving the public interest effectively.
