Patna Horror: 3-Year-Old Girl Raped, Accused Beaten by Villagers

Patna: A horrific incident unfolded in the Danapur Shahpur police station area of Patna where a 3-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a drug addict on Monday. The accused fled the scene, leaving the child in a blood-soaked maize field, before being apprehended and severely beaten by enraged villagers. Both the victim and the accused are currently in critical condition and undergoing treatment at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH).
According to the victim’s uncle, the accused, identified as Basudev Mahato, had approached him earlier, asking for tobacco and a mobile phone. Later, he returned in an intoxicated state. The young girl was playing outside her home when Basudev allegedly picked her up. Initially, onlookers believed he was simply playing with the child, but he then took her to a nearby maize field where the assault is said to have occurred.
The horrifying discovery was made when the girl’s mother returned and could not find her daughter. Villagers launched a search and eventually apprehended Basudev. Initially, he gave conflicting accounts, claiming the girl was in Dighwara and then Sheetalpur. However, women from the village reported seeing him take the child towards the maize field.
Upon reaching the field, the family found their daughter in a severely injured and bloodied state. Overcome with anger, villagers assaulted Basudev. Police from the Shahpur station arrived at the scene, arrested the accused, and rescued the child.

SHO Manish Kumar Anand confirmed the incident, stating that the accused, a neighbor, had allegedly raped the three-year-old girl.
