Patna Hosts Successful Employment and Vocational Guidance Fair

Patna : The Lower Regional Employment Office, operating under the Labour Resources Department and the Model Career Center Patna, successfully organised a one-day employment and vocational guidance fair aimed at providing job opportunities in the private sector.

The event was inaugurated by Bihar’s Labour Resources Minister, Santosh Kumar, with Sanjeev Chaurasia, MLA for Digha, also in attendance. Several senior officials, including Special Secretary Rajiv Ranjan, Deputy Directors Priyanka Kumari, Amrita Kumari, and Shyam Prakash Shukla, were present.

Speaking at the event, Santosh Kumar emphasised the government’s commitment to employment generation, stating that job fairs are being organised across all districts in Bihar, helping thousands secure employment. He reiterated the state’s target of creating one lakh jobs annually, with large-scale fairs planned at regular intervals.

Immediate Job Offers and Skill Certifications
During the fair, five candidates received appointment letters on the spot, handed over by the minister, while five more were awarded certificates under the Skilled Youth Programme.

Strong Employer Participation and Footfall
A total of 32 private-sector employers, representing industries such as automobile, insurance, hospitality, sales, and marketing, participated, offering over 1,500 job vacancies.

The event witnessed a strong turnout, with:

4,842 job seekers attending
3,729 submitting their biodata
748 shortlisted or selected for employment
1,138 candidates receiving career guidance from seven government stalls
Organisers and Coordination
The fair was coordinated by Assistant Directors Noor Ahsan and Ankit Raj, along with employment officers, district skill managers, and staff from the Lower Regional Employment Office.
