Amit Patna Facebook Suicide

Patna: A young man in Patna took his own life after broadcasting a Facebook Live video in which he blamed a girl and his family for his distress.

The deceased, identified as Amit Kumar, also known as Pillu Kumar, was a resident of Patna City. In the video, Amit can be seen smoking a cigarette and expressing his frustration before jumping into the Ganga River from Peerdamadi Ghat in the Malsalami police station area.

During the Facebook Live session, Amit said, “A girl and her family have ruined me. The world is not right. Ganga Maiya is calling me to come. I’m going, guys. You all stay happy.” He also mentioned his father, Vaidyanath Yadav, and his younger brother, Aniket alias Ishu, stating that they would be happy in his absence.

Amit made several allegations against his family during the live stream, accusing them of valuing money over relationships. He claimed that his family had sided with those who wronged him and that he had been threatened with violence by his own family members. Twirling his moustache and pointing the camera towards his face, Amit urged viewers to “look at my face before I go.”

Amit also said, “I am the only single piece in the world. No one like me will be born again.” In his final words, he demanded severe punishment for those responsible for his pain, particularly his younger brother, Aniket.

Before jumping into the Ganga, Amit posted two videos. In the second video, he accused his father and brother of being responsible for his decision to end his life. He revealed that he had been beaten the night before, suffering swelling to his eyes and face, as part of an ongoing dispute over property. “I am the eldest son of the family, so I also have a share in the property. No one wants to give me my share. I was beaten up when I asked for it. Blood is dripping from my face, but it doesn’t matter. I am committing suicide,” he said.

The incident took place on Wednesday at Peerdamadi Ghat. After receiving information about the situation, local police from the Malsalami station, along with Amit’s family, rushed to the scene. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team was called in to assist, and they later recovered Amit’s body from the Ganga River.

Malsalami Police Station in-charge, Rajkumar Singh, stated that Amit was a resident of Patna City. According to witnesses, he had climbed a dry tree at Peerdamadi Ghat to record a video. While doing so, he lost his footing and fell into the Ganga, where he drowned. Amit died due to drowning.
