Patna: Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) is working at full speed to improve the city’s drainage system, focusing on cleaning drains and addressing ground-level issues through site inspections across all wards.

As part of these efforts, PMC held an inter-departmental meeting on Tuesday at Maurya Lok Complex to review challenges identified during joint site visits.

To prevent waterlogging, PMC will deploy pumps in vulnerable areas before the onset of monsoon. Municipal Commissioner has directed all executive officers to assess their respective zones and submit a list of locations requiring pumps, along with the necessary equipment and personnel. A mock drill will also be conducted to test the efficiency of these measures, and additional drainage routes will be explored.

Officials from various departments, including the Electricity Board, Road Construction Department, Bihar Rajya Pul Nirmal Nigam Limited, and Building Construction Department, participated in the discussions to coordinate efforts for a smoother drainage system.
