Patna Municipal Corporation to Use AI for Increasing Property Tax Revenue

Patna: Patna Municipal Corporation is set to implement artificial intelligence to boost property tax collection. People who fail to pay their property tax will soon receive customized video messages addressing them by name, urging them to clear their dues. This new initiative follows the successful implementation of a WhatsApp chatbot aimed at making the corporation more digitally advanced and accessible to the public.

The AI-based system will be operational within this financial year, and messages will start reaching property owners soon. This step is part of the corporation’s plan to double its revenue target by identifying defaulters and sending reminders on a large scale via mobile messages. The software will utilize property tax data stored in the data center to streamline the process.

In addition to this, the corporation plans to geo-tag residential and commercial properties to maintain accurate property records. This measure is expected to improve tax compliance and ensure no properties are left out of the tax database.
