Patna Smart City: 40-Foot Yakshini Statue and 100-Foot High Mast Tricolor Along Ganga Path
Patna: In a transformative move aimed at showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Bihar, the 29th meeting of Patna Smart City Limited convened earlier this week, making critical decisions to enhance the cityscape from Digha on the Ganga Path to AN Sinha Path. Chaired by Mr. Santosh Kumar Mall, Chairman of Patna Smart City, the meeting unfolded at the Smart City complex.
Key Decisions by the Board of Directors:
- Ganga River Front Beautification:
The JP Ganga Path is set to undergo a dramatic transformation under the River Front Development initiative. Stretching from Digha Golambar to AN Sinha, the project will feature a 100-foot-high mast Tricolor, a 40-foot Yakshini, and a Patna Eye modeled after London Eye. The entire Ganga Path will showcase Bihar’s history and cultural highlights through sculptural installations. The project, estimated at approximately Rs 85 crore, has selected an agency for its execution.
- Automated Parking in Mauryalok Campus:
The Maurya Lok Complex will witness the construction of Bihar’s first automated multi-level car parking system, accommodating around 150 cars. Equipped with a sophisticated dolly system, the parking structure will extend from both sides of Maurya Lok, connected by a foot over bridge. The cost of this pioneering project is estimated to be around Rs 29 crores.
- Crematorium at Bans Ghat:
A crematorium will be erected at Bans Ghat by Patna Smart City, featuring two electric and eight traditional crematoriums. The site will also include a pond, a prayer room, greenery, and a vending zone related to the crematorium. The project, already in progress, is expected to cost approximately Rs 81.21 crore.
- Variable Message Display Boards (VMD) Across the City:
To enhance information dissemination and public awareness, Variable Message Display Boards (VMD) will be installed at 50 locations throughout Patna. The one-sided boards, with dimensions ranging from 5.5 m × 2.75 m to 8.53 m × 4.88 m, will also serve as a source of economic benefit for Patna Smart City through advertising opportunities for the public. The estimated cost for this initiative is around Rs 30 crores.
Additionally, various measures to preserve and enhance the city’s aesthetic appeal were discussed during the meeting.
