Patna Women’s College Awarded A++ Reaccreditation by NAAC, a Historic Achievement
Patna: The National Assessment Accreditation Council (NAAC) has bestowed upon Patna Women’s College a prestigious A++ reaccreditation, affirming its academic excellence with a remarkable CGPA of 3.51. This accolade marks the fourth cycle accreditation for the college, following previous recognitions in 2004, 2010, and 2015, where it secured an ‘A’ rank.
Bihar Governor, Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, personally extended his congratulations to the Principal of the College, Dr. Sister M. Rashmi AC, via telephone, acknowledging the institution’s exceptional achievement.
The NAAC’s decision follows a meticulous two-day evaluation conducted by a Peer Team on May 2 and 3. During this period, the team meticulously assessed the physical infrastructure of the campus and engaged with various stakeholders, including students, alumnae, and faculty members. Culminating their visit, the team conducted an Exit Meeting with the teaching staff and compiled a confidential report.
Chaired by Prof. Vinita Hooda from the Department of Botany at Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak, the Peer Team also included Prof. Balkrishan Sangvikar from the Department of Management Sciences at Savitribai Phule Pune University, serving as Member-Coordinator, and Prof. Zokaitluangi I. from the Department of Psychology at Mizoram University, as Member.
This latest accreditation adds another accolade to Patna Women’s College, a bastion of quality education and women’s empowerment since its establishment in 1940. Notably, the college attained autonomous status under Patna University in 2018, further cementing its reputation for academic prowess. In a testament to its continued excellence, the MDRA India Today Survey of 2023 ranked the institution as the top in the Arts stream and second in the Science stream within the Eastern region.
