Patna Women’s College Hosts 3rd Convocation Ceremony in Patna

Patna: Patna Women’s College celebrated its 3rd Convocation Ceremony since attaining autonomous status, marking a significant milestone in its academic journey. The grand event was held at 2 p.m. in the Mother Veronica Auditorium, with Alok John, Dean, NICCS, serving as the event’s host. The ceremony was formally inaugurated by Ajay Kumar Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Patna University, who declared the Convocation open. The traditional lamp-lighting ceremony was led by Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., Principal of Patna Women’s College, along with Chief Guest Vinita Singh Sahay, Director of IIM Bodh Gaya, Vice-Chancellor Ajay Kumar Singh, and Shalini, Registrar of Patna University, symbolizing wisdom and enlightenment.

As a gesture of appreciation, Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C. presented a memento, a shawl, and a sapling to Chief Guest Vinita Singh Sahay. Similarly, Dr. Sister M. Tanisha A.C., Vice-Principal of the college, felicitated Vice-Chancellor Ajay Kumar Singh, while Shalini, Registrar of Patna University, was honored by Ameeta Jaiswal, Dean of Arts & Humanities. Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., in her welcome address, expressed gratitude to the distinguished guests, faculty, parents, and graduating students. She praised the students for their dedication and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence.

The Gold Medal Distribution Ceremony was a major highlight, where outstanding students from each department were awarded medals by the Principal and the Chief Guest in recognition of their academic excellence. A group photograph was taken with the medal recipients, along with the Principal, Chief Guest, and Deans, capturing the proud moment.

Chief Guest Vinita Singh Sahay delivered the Convocation Address, emphasizing the transformative power of education, describing it as the “stairway to success and progress.” She applauded Patna Women’s College for its commitment to providing quality education to women, calling them the future of the nation. Vice-Chancellor Ajay Kumar Singh then delivered an inspiring speech, wishing the graduates success in their future endeavors before administering the oath, marking their transition into the next phase of their lives.

The event concluded with a group photograph session of graduates from each department, capturing the joy and pride of the moment. Dr. Sister M. Tanisha A.C. delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the Chief Guests, Principal, Academic Council, Deans, media members, parents, and graduates for making the event a success. The Vice-Chancellor officially declared the Convocation closed, and the ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.
