Patna Women’s College Hosts Red Run Marathon to Raise HIV & AIDS Awareness
Patna: Patna Women’s College (PWC) on Friday organized a Red Run Marathon, in collaboration with the Bihar State AIDS Control Society (BSACS) to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS among the youth.
The marathon, held within the college campus, was supervised by Dr. Manjula Sushila, Head of the Department of Hindi and Sports Coordinator at PWC. Supporting her in the event were Shweta Singh, Sports Teacher; Dr. Shahla Rehana, NSS Program Officer and Assistant Professor in the Department of English; and Dr. Amrita, NSS Program Officer and Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics.
A total of 27 students participated in the marathon, covering a distance of 4 km. From these participants, 10 were selected to compete at the district level. Key members of the Student Council 2024-25, including Sports Secretary Samridhi Kashyap, Joint Sports Secretary Kanchan Vinod, and Environment and Discipline Secretary Stuti Singh, played an instrumental role in assisting throughout the event.
The marathon aimed to not only promote physical fitness but also to educate the students on the importance of HIV and AIDS awareness, reflecting the college’s commitment to social causes and community health initiatives.
