Patna Women’s College Hosts Workshop on Genetic Transformation of Pseudomonas sp.
Patna: The Department of Microbiology at Patna Women’s College recently conducted a comprehensive two-day workshop on Tuesday and Wednesday, focusing on the theme of “Genetic Transformation of Pseudomonas sp.” The workshop catered to students enrolled in B.Sc. Microbiology Honours semester IV and semester VI.
The workshop delved into the intricacies of genetic transformation within Pseudomonas sp., with a particular emphasis on the procedures involved in creating competent cells, transforming these cells with plasmid DNA, and calculating transformation efficiency. Attendees gained insights into the significance of genetic transformation in the realms of biotechnology and genetic engineering.
Under the diligent supervision of Dr. Jaya Philip, Head of the Department of Microbiology, alongside assistant professors Dr. Niti Yashvardhini and Dr. Swetnisha, the workshop provided an enriching and hands-on learning experience for participating students.
