Patna Women’s College Launches National Conference on NAAC Accreditation Reforms
Patna: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Patna Women’s College (PWC) inaugurated a two-day national conference on “NAAC Reforms 2024 – Binary Accreditation” on Monday. The conference, held at Carmel Hall, is sponsored by Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) and aims to discuss the latest reforms in the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accreditation process.
Prof. Kameshwar Jha, Vice Chairman of the Bihar State Higher Education Council (BSHEC), served as the Chief Guest and delivered the keynote address. He emphasized the critical role of NAAC accreditation in enhancing the quality of higher education institutions and praised Patna Women’s College for achieving the prestigious A++ NAAC grade. Prof. Jha encouraged other colleges to strive for similar excellence in their accreditation journeys.
Dr. Archana Kumari, Deputy Secretary of BSHEC and the Guest of Honour, highlighted the Council’s ongoing support for institutions seeking NAAC accreditation. She underscored the importance of quality initiatives and assured attendees of the Council’s commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement in higher education.
Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., Principal of PWC, welcomed the participants and expressed the institution’s dedication to aiding colleges in understanding and navigating the NAAC accreditation process. The event also featured presentations by resource persons Dr. Amrita Chowdhury, IQAC Coordinator at PWC, and Alok John, Dean of National and International Collaborations and Consultancy Services (NICCS) and Assistant IQAC Coordinator. They provided detailed insights into the ten attributes of the new NAAC framework, including specific metric requirements and the types of data and evidence needed for accreditation.
The conference attracted over 75 participants, including principals, IQAC coordinators, and faculty members from various institutions, all focused on enhancing the quality of higher education through rigorous accreditation standards.
