Patna Women’s College Organizes Poster Competition on World TB Day

Patna: The Department of Microbiology, Patna Women’s College, successfully organized a Poster Making Competition to mark World Tuberculosis (TB) Day. The event aimed to raise awareness about tuberculosis, its causes, prevention, and treatment through creative and informative visual presentations.

Participants showcased their artistic and scientific knowledge by designing posters that highlighted various aspects of TB, including symptoms, preventive measures, vaccination, and the need to eliminate stigma associated with the disease. Some posters also covered other health-related topics, making the competition a comprehensive awareness initiative.

The judging panel included Urvashi Sinha, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, and Rabindra Nath Roy Majumdar, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry. At the conclusion of the event, the winners were announced. Group A, consisting of Vaishnavi Shree, Kashish Sharma, Srishti Duncan, Sonam Kumari, and Kirti Kashyap, secured the first position. Group E, with members Nikita Pandey, Shrawani Kumari, Mansi, Richa Kumari, and Vibha Kumari, took second place, while Group F, including Akriti Kumari, Nisha Yadav, Soumya Kumari, Shruti Kumari, and Kumari Anshu Yadav, secured third place.

The event was conducted under the supervision of Jaya Philip, Head, Department of Microbiology, along with faculty members Niti Yashwardhini, Swetnisha, and Preeti Swarupa. Their guidance ensured the smooth execution of the competition, which effectively blended art and science to promote public health awareness.

By combining creativity with scientific education, the competition encouraged students to actively participate in spreading awareness about tuberculosis and contribute to the global fight against the disease.
