Patna’s Quest for Cleanliness: Citizens Hold the Key to Swachh Survekshan Success

Patna: Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) is pulling out all the stops in its quest for a higher ranking in Swachh Survekshan 2024. Beyond the daily grind of keeping the city clean, the PMC is now actively seeking feedback from the very people it serves – its citizens.
Why? Because your feedback matters! Citizen feedback plays a crucial role in determining Patna’s Swachh Survekshan score. To ensure every voice is heard, the PMC is going the extra mile, deploying teams of dedicated mobilizers to gather valuable input.
From Door-to-Door to Festive Appeals
On Friday, a team of mobilizers, equipped with logbooks and accompanied by anti-larva and fogging teams, fanned out from Gandhi Maidan, going door-to-door to collect feedback. This initiative not only provides citizens with a platform to share their experiences but also raises awareness about the importance of their participation in the survey.
The drive to gather feedback even reached the festive grounds of the Fagunotsav organized by Mahila Udyog Sangh in Gyan Bhawan. Mayor and Swachhta Brand Ambassador Neetu Kumari Navgeet personally appealed to attendees to share their views, while a dedicated PMC team collected feedback on-site.
10 Questions, 10 Steps Closer to a Cleaner Patna
The citizen feedback campaign revolves around a set of 10 simple “yes” or “no” questions designed to gauge the effectiveness of the city’s sanitation efforts. These questions cover a range of topics, from daily garbage collection and waste segregation to the cleanliness of public spaces and awareness of waste management initiatives.
Here’s how you can contribute:
- Daily Garbage Collection: Is garbage collected from your home/shop every day?
- Cleanliness of Residential Areas: How would you rate the cleanliness of your area?
- Garbage Dumps: How often do you see garbage dumps or piles of garbage?
- Household Waste Segregation: Do you separate dry and wet waste at home?
- Waste Segregation during Collection: Does the garbage collector separate waste into different categories?
- Cleanliness of Public Places: How effective are local authorities in maintaining cleanliness in markets, parks, and other public areas?
- Awareness of RRR Centers: Are you aware of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (RRR) centers in your city?
- Licensed Sewer and Septic Tank Cleaners: Do you know that only licensed operators are allowed to clean sewers and septic tanks?
- Cleanliness of Public Toilets: How satisfied are you with the cleanliness of public toilets?
- Reporting Cleanliness Issues: Have you reported any cleanliness-related problems to the authorities, and how was it resolved?
Patna Municipal Corporation urges all residents to actively participate in this crucial campaign.
