Physics Wallah (PW) partners with Railways’ Sonpur Division to expand affordable education outreach
Patna: Physics Wallah (PW), India’s leading edtech platform, has partnered with the Sonpur Division of the Indian Railways to brand two locomotives of passenger trains for the first time, highlighting the platform’s mission of bringing affordable education closer to students in the remotest parts of the country and raising awareness. Currently, one WAP (passenger locomotive) is functional and attached to the Danapur-Jaynagar Intercity Express. Soon, the other engine will also go live.
Physics Wallah (PW) CEO Offline Ankit Gupta said, “Through this initiative, we aim to make more people along these routes aware that there is an affordable platform available for them to study and build their careers. We are committed to serving more students across India and providing affordable education.”
The branding includes the Hindi tagline ‘Har Ghar Shiksha, Alakh Ki Iccha’, meaning ‘Alakh’s wish is to bring education to every home’. PW has already penetrated 98% of the pincodes in India through its affordable courses, democratizing education at scale. Recently, PW Founder and CEO Alakh Pandey announced a full waiver of fees for some of PW’s courses for 51,000 underprivileged students. The platform has provided free education to over 4 crore students on YouTube. Additionally, by establishing 75 tech-enabled offline Vidyapeeth centers, it aims to build education hubs for students in tier II and tier III cities.
During the inauguration of the two locomotive engines, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM-Sonpur Division) Vivek Bhushan Sood and Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (Sr.DCM-Sonpur Division) Roushan Kumar along with Physics Wallah’s Patna Regional Business Head Sauvik Sinhababu and Regional Academic Head Atul Samuel Sinha were present.
