PM Modi and CM Nitish Kumar Virtually Inaugurate Railway Projects Worth Rs 41,000 Crore
Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday jointly inaugurated numerous railways projects, marking a significant milestone in Bihar’s infrastructural advancement.
The ceremony, conducted via video conferencing, witnessed the participation of CM Nitish, Deputy CMs Samrat Chaudhary, and Vijay Kumar Sinha from the Chief Minister’s residence at 1, Anne Marg. Prime Minister Modi remotely laid the foundation stone and inaugurated 554 railway stations across the nation under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, allocating a staggering sum of Rs 41,000 crore for the initiative. Additionally, he inaugurated 1,500 road overbridges and underpasses, signaling a comprehensive overhaul of the nation’s transportation infrastructure.
The event, which garnered nationwide attention, served as a testament to the government’s unwavering commitment to bolstering the nation’s railway network. Notably, 33 railway stations in Bihar, including prominent hubs such as Barauni, Siwan, and Munger, witnessed the commencement of redevelopment and construction works. Simultaneously, construction activities for 68 road overbridges and underpasses were initiated, promising to enhance connectivity and ease traffic congestion across the state.
Prior to the commencement of the inauguration ceremony, Divisional Railway Manager of Danapur, DRM Jayant Kumar Choudhary, extended a warm welcome to CM Nitish Kumar, presenting him with a symbolic green plant and a blouse. The proceedings were further embellished by the presentation of a short film showcasing the transformative impact of railway projects on Bihar’s socio-economic landscape.
The presence of dignitaries such as former Minister and Legislative Councilor Ashok Chaudhary, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, and Divisional Railway Manager of Danapur DRM Jayant Kumar Chaudhary added gravitas to the occasion, accentuating the collaborative spirit driving Bihar’s developmental agenda.
