Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Patna a while ago to kick off a high-stakes visit to Bihar, with a focus on infrastructure development and electoral mobilisation ahead of the state assembly polls.
PM Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the newly constructed terminal at Jayprakash Narayan International Airport, a modern facility aimed at easing congestion and boosting connectivity in the state capital. The project, built at a cost of over Rs 1,200 crore, is expected to significantly increase passenger handling capacity.
Later in the evening, the Prime Minister will lead a roadshow through central Patna, starting from the airport and culminating at the BJP’s state headquarters. The event is expected to draw large crowds and will serve as a public show of strength for the BJP in Bihar.
Security has been tightened across the city, with extensive traffic restrictions and the deployment of additional police and paramilitary forces in anticipation of the Prime Minister’s roadshow. The visit is seen as a key moment in the BJP’s efforts to consolidate support ahead of the upcoming elections.
