PM Modi to Inaugurate and Launch Projects Worth Rs 50,000 Crore During Bihar Visit: Minister Nitin Nabin

Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a two-day visit to Bihar on May 29, during which he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for infrastructure projects valued at nearly Rs 50,000 crore — a high-profile visit expected to set the tone for the BJP’s campaign ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections.
The state’s Road Construction Minister and BJP MLA Nitin Nabin held a review meeting with departmental officials on Monday to finalise preparations. Addressing the media, Naveen described the visit as “historic” and said it would reflect the Centre’s commitment to accelerating development in Bihar.
Among the major projects to be inaugurated is the long-awaited Patna–Gaya–Dobhi stretch of NH-22, comprising Packages I, II and III, built at a cost of Rs 5,519 crore by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The upgraded route is expected to significantly ease travel between the state capital and the religious town of Gayaji, reducing congestion and travel time.
In Gopalganj, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate a four-lane elevated road on NH-27, completed at a cost of Rs 249 crore.
A series of major road infrastructure projects will see foundation stones laid during the Prime Minister’s visit, including Packages I and II of the Patna–Ara–Sasaram NH-119 corridor at an estimated cost of Rs 3,712 crore; Packages II, III, VI and VII of the Varanasi–Ranchi–Kolkata Expressway on NH-319B, valued at Rs 5,994 crore within Bihar; a six-lane road from Ramnagar to Kachidargah on NH-119D, costing Rs 1,083 crore; and a new bridge across the Ganga River between Buxar and Bharouli on NH-922, with a projected cost of Rs 531 crore.
Collectively, these road construction projects account for an outlay of Rs 17,088 crore.
Beyond road projects, PM Modi will inaugurate the newly constructed terminal building at Patna Airport, developed at a cost of Rs 1,200 crore. He will also inaugurate staff quarters and a dormitory at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, built for Rs 8 crore.
In the power and aviation sectors, the Prime Minister is expected to lay the foundation stone for Stage II of the Nabinagar Super Thermal Power Project in Aurangabad, and for the civil enclave at Bihta Airport — key projects that underscore the government’s emphasis on regional infrastructure.
The visit will also feature a grand roadshow in Patna, with BJP workers and supporters preparing for a ceremonial welcome that includes women performing aarti and showering flowers at various points.
“This visit is not just a show of strength — it’s a showcase of delivery,” said Minister Nitin Nabin. “Every citizen, from workers to professionals, is looking forward to the Prime Minister’s arrival.”
