Bhagalpur/ Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address a farmers’ rally in Bhagalpur on February 24, a move that the BJP sees as a crucial moment in its campaign for the upcoming Bihar elections. The event, expected to draw a massive crowd, will serve as the party’s election bugle, with PM Modi’s speech likely to set the tone for the political discourse in the state.

Senior BJP leaders believe that the rally will have a ripple effect across Bihar, energizing party workers and strengthening support in key constituencies. BJP’s Bihar president, Dilip Jaiswal, described the rally as the “election bugle” for the party, asserting that the event will boost the NDA’s prospects. Political analysts believe the rally could influence constituencies across East Bihar, Kosi, and Seemanchal, strengthening the NDA’s position in areas where it already has a foothold while helping it gain ground in weaker regions.

The event will also mark the release of the 19th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, a direct financial assistance programme for farmers. The Bhagalpur region, known for its agricultural prominence, is home to an agricultural university, and more than 250,000 farmers here benefit from the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. Farmers from surrounding districts, including Banka, Munger, Lakhisarai, Jamui, Saharsa, Supaul, Madhepura, Araria, Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar, and Khagaria, are also expected to attend.

With elaborate preparations underway, BJP leaders are banking on the rally to bolster their position in the state, particularly in rural areas where farmer-centric policies are expected to play a decisive role in the election.
