PM Modi’s Bihar Visit on April 24 Signals Political Push Ahead of Assembly Elections

Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Bihar on April 24 for the National Panchayat Day celebrations in Madhubani, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth thousands of crores. The visit comes at a crucial time as Bihar gears up for the upcoming assembly elections, with the BJP aiming to strengthen its position in the state.
According to Bihar BJP leaders, PM Modi is expected to visit the state once every month, indicating the party’s strategic focus on Bihar ahead of the elections. His upcoming visit will not only highlight the government’s push for rural development but also serve as a platform to connect with local leaders and voters. Along with the Panchayati Raj projects, the Prime Minister is likely to inaugurate the new terminal building of Patna Airport and lay the foundation stone for Bihta Airport, showcasing the Centre’s investment in Bihar’s infrastructure.
A high-level review meeting regarding the visit was held in Madhubani, attended by Union Panchayati Raj Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Industry Minister Nitish Mishra, Bihar Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena, and other senior officials. The BJP-led NDA government in Bihar is keen to ensure a grand and impactful event, reinforcing its governance narrative ahead of the polls. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has been actively sharing updates on social media, signaling the party’s intent to capitalize on the visit.
This visit follows PM Modi’s recent political engagements in Bihar, including his rally in Bhagalpur, where he transferred Rs 22,000 crore to farmers across the country under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, benefiting 76 lakh farmers in Bihar with Rs 1,600 crore. Additionally, in November 2024, he participated in the Tribal Pride Day celebrations in Jamui, announcing projects worth Rs 6,640 crore for tribal development.
