Patna: The political landscape in Bihar is undergoing significant turmoil with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s recent political realignment, and against this backdrop, the stage is set for the arrival of former National President of Congress, Rahul Gandhi, and his Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra in Araria this afternoon.

The anticipation is palpable in Araria as the district administration gears up for the security arrangements surrounding the Nyaya Yatra, eliciting excitement among members of the Araria Congress Committee. Elaborate preparations, including the installation of numerous archways adorned with banners and posters, have been undertaken along the expected routes of Rahul Gandhi’s arrival.

District Congress Committee President and former MLA Zakir Hussain Khan confirmed Rahul Gandhi’s scheduled visit to Araria on Monday. The law and order situation in various areas of the district, including Yadav College, have been meticulously assessed by Araria SP Ashok Kumar Singh in coordination with the police administration and Congress leaders.

The agenda for Rahul Gandhi’s visit in the district includes two prominent programs. The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra is set to traverse through Kishanganj, culminating at Chargharia Chowk on Jokihat’s border in Araria district around 1 pm. Congress leaders and the public are poised for a grand welcome, with schoolgirls preparing to extend their greetings.

The convoy’s route from Chargharia will wind through Jokihat, Bairagachhi, Belwa, Zeromile, passing through key locations such as Azad Academy Chowk, Hospital Chowk, Congress Office Town Hall Chowk, Chandni Chowk, Subhash Chowk, Kali Mandir, and Godhi Chowk.

During the journey, a visit to Maa Kharkeshwari Kali temple is anticipated. The evening will culminate with a stay at Yadav College, Araria, where President Zakir Khan unveiled plans for a walking tour from Zero Mile Chowk to Araria city, featuring a shower of rose petals on both sides of the road. Meetings are scheduled at Zero Mile and Chandni Chowk.

Nightfall will see Rahul Gandhi resting at Yadav College, with plans to depart for Purnia on January 30th at 8 am. A regional public meeting at Rangbhoomi ground in Purnia, featuring prominent leaders from the India alliance, is on the agenda. Khan emphasized the historic significance of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra for Araria, with extensive preparations underway at various locations to welcome his arrival.
