Prashant Kishor Announces Tickets for 70 EBC Candidates, Challenges NDA and Mahagathbandhan
Patna: On the 101st birth anniversary of Jananayak Karpuri Thakur, Prashant Kishor, the leader of Jan Suraaj, announced at Miller High School in Patna that his party will give assembly election tickets to 70 candidates from the extremely backward communities (EBC). He pledged not only to provide them tickets but also the resources needed to contest elections. Kishor challenged the NDA and Mahagathbandhan, claiming that even together, they cannot match this representation of backward communities.
Referring to the recent police lathi charge on BPSC students protesting against the paper leak, Kishor criticized the state government. He said that the police did not discriminate based on caste while brutally beating students and added that those responsible for this must be removed from power. “The answer to the lathi blow has to be given with the blow of votes,” he urged.
Highlighting the failures of the Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad regimes, Kishor said that they have destroyed Bihar in the name of social justice over the last 35 years. He accused them of exploiting the public while failing to create an egalitarian society envisioned by Karpuri Thakur.
Kishor shared Jan Suraaj’s five key principles for achieving equality: providing land to the landless, ensuring education for all, and enabling access to capital for employment. He revealed that currently, two-thirds of the land in Bihar is owned by only eight castes, while 60 out of every 100 people are landless. He vowed that Jan Suraaj would implement land reforms within three years if brought to power.
Prashant Kishor’s announcements and criticism of the ruling alliances mark a significant moment in the political landscape of Bihar, emphasizing the need for inclusive politics and socioeconomic reforms.
