Prashant Kishor Pledges 40 Women Candidates for Bihar Polls, Questions Tejashwi on Domicile Policy

Chhapra/Patna: Prashant Kishor, the founder of Jan Suraj party, announced on International Women’s Day that his party will field at least 40 women candidates in the upcoming Bihar assembly elections. Describing the move as a significant step towards increasing women’s political participation in the state, he also hinted that a woman candidate could be fielded from each Lok Sabha constituency.

Addressing a gathering in Chhapra, Kishor also took aim at Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav over the domicile policy, questioning why it was not implemented during his tenure as Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister. “Why was the domicile policy not enforced when Maha-Vidwan (great scholar) Tejashwi Yadav was Deputy CM in Nitish Kumar’s government?” he asked, in a jibe at the RJD leader.

Kishor further criticized the RJD’s stance on teacher recruitment, stating that when Yadav’s party controlled the Education Ministry, 60% of appointments went to non-Biharis. “There was no protest then, but now they are creating a ruckus in the assembly,” he remarked.
